Being the retail, garden centre branch of Coles Nurseries, the UK’s largest grower of trees and shrubs, Coles Plant Centre has access to the entire nursery stock, meaning a selection of over two million shrubs and one million trees are available at short notice.

Expert advice & delivery

Expert staff are always on hand to offer advice on plant selection, planting and aftercare, and would be more than happy to spend a bit of time showing you around the garden centre discussing your requirements. A delivery service is operated within a forty mile radius of the garden centre in Leicester.

110 Years of experience

The company was created in 1913 when James Coles first purchased an eight acre plot of land in Evington, Leicester. Coles Plant Centre was first opened as a retail shop on London Road, Leicester, in 1933. It later moved first to Oadby and next to its current site in Thurnby, where it has remained since 1982.

Gardening and plant specialists

Coles Plant Centre is the retail branch of James Coles and Sons (Nurseries) Ltd, the UK’s largest grower of trees and shrubs for amenity and landscape planting. Coles Nurseries grow a range of over two million shrubs and one million trees in over six thousand different varieties, across production sites throughout Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.

The Coles Garden Club is a free to join group where members benefit from 5% discount on all purchases, mailings containing tips and advice on which jobs they should be carrying out in the garden, special offers and invites to exclusive events at the Plant Centre in Leicester. Catering to the retail and trade markets, whether you’re after plants for a full landscaping scheme or a couple of bedding plants for the garden, you’ll be given the care and attention you deserve to help you through your plant purchasing experience. Unparalleled Range Available

Being a part of Coles Nurseries, Coles Plant Centre can offer an unparalleled range of trees, shrubs, climbers, herbs, conifers and grasses, all available to view at the Centre. A plant ordering service is also operated, giving customers the opportunity to order plants not stocked at the Plant Centre. This service generally has a very rapid turnaround time, as most plants are grown on the Nursery within a twenty mile radius.
