Pansies
These cheerful plants appear in Spring to give you colour whilst the spring bulbs are out and before the summer bedding kicks in. They can cope with the colder weather but also thrive in early summer sunshine.
These days there are so many different colour variations, now available from September right up until May/June. Related to their smaller cousins the Viola, pansies are more showy and flouncy and prefer a more sunny position.
Pansies can be grown in the front of any border, in containers and even in a window box (for those of us who love gardening but have no garden). Remember it’s both Mother’s Day and Easter this month – these flowers will brighten anyone’s day!
Do pop in to get ideas for planted containers to give as gifts.
If dead-headed regularly pansies can last for months. Feed from the end of March, once a week, with a potash based liquid feed such tomato feed, Miracle-Gro or Seaweed (all of which can be purchased from our shop).
Happy Gardening!
